chaneling Allen: Lily a new fashion muse?

The MySpace-sub culture it-queen Lily Allen with her big gold earings, her princess dresses and her Nikes is getting into fashion world. Do you know who is going to help her? she was sitting in his last runway show, guess who?

the answer: Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel.
why??? i´m just wondering why designers are doing this: first, it was Dakota for Marc Jacobs and now Karl Lagerfeld is considering Lily Allen to be the new face of Chanel....Lagerfeld believes she will define the look of 2007... I like her, she is very fresh, she makes very differnt music from what we getting used to listen to at he moment, but I dont know what to think about this, it´s shocking!

just remember to Smile!

Kaiser working: K Karl Lagerfeld

yesterday, one of my favourites designers (just when he´s working for chanel, i have to remark), karl Lagerfeld, has annouced in Paris that he´s launching a new line that will be available (at least for the moment) in Europe and Canada. Lagerfeld has a special passion for denim (he has even included denim in the last chanel haute-couture collection, remember?) so this line is basically based in denim, among other fabrics, because as he said: "T-shirts and jeans are the base of modern dressing." The collection will be called K Karl Lagerfeld ("I´m tired of complicated names") and will include both men and women clothing. His personal style, very wellk-known by everyone, will be reflect on skinny silhouettes full of black and white. the prices will be more affordable than his other lines (chanel, chanel haute-couture, lagerfeld, his colaboration with fendi... isnt he overworking?)
the preview of K for autumn/winter 2007/2008 may be seen at Bread & Butter in Barcelona, Spain,January 17-19, 2007. arent you excited? I am.

Fanning & fashion

Dakota Fanning, this young extremenly blonde-extremenly pale actress-celebrety you all hate, is getting into fashion world... first of all she has been photographed (with some shanel haute-couture dresses) by Karl Lagerfeld in a photoshoot for Vanity Fair and now she is going to be the face of the new spring/summer Marc Jacobs collection ad campaign... dont know what to think about this... does Jacobs think he would appeal (with Fanning) to his consumers, women of 20-30-40 something??? is she a new fashion icon???? dont you think young and beauty are going extreme??? (she is just 12!!!!! what´s up for 20 year-old girls? are they already too old for fashion and modeling????)
well, i good think about all that is that they (Lagerfeld and Jacobs) didnt try to make her looked older than she is or make her looked sexy (she is just 12!!!!!)

Lagerfeld shoot for VF:

besides dakota´s peformance, i think Jacobs new collection is awesome. it has a little touch of the 20´s spirit!Marc Jacobs campaign preview:

Irina Lanzareanu

Irina Lanzareanu is my favourite model...
she has seduced fashion with her gorgeous face, her kind of androgeny image and her rock&roll affair with groups such as Babyshambles (Pete Doherty´s band)
she is beautiful and she has also talent... she has collaborated with Sean Lennon in his last LP and right now she is working on her own folk album called Some Place Along The Way, influenced by Dylan, Cohen or Young... (cant wait to listen to it!)

her personal style is absolutly unique, she combines vintage piece with fashion
designers´clothing. she has worked with the best: Chanel, Versace, Gucci, Marc Jacobs... and she is one of Balenciaga´s muses.
that´s what I would called a fashion icon.

N.E.E.T.

N.E.E.T. celebrates its first aniversary with the December issue. N.E.E.T. is the first online free magazine. it´s mainly about alternative fashion, street fashion! go to the website and take a look! it´s worthy... you can get very juicy ideas for your outfits!
the most interesting thing about this magazine is not the fact that it´s free, which, of course, it´s great... this mag is interesting because it´s global and it offers an opportunity to independent writers, photographer, designers, models, stylish... and talented people in general. they are genuine, unique and very original, they are not influenced by the mass stuff, they make it on their own... they trust in DIY, in creativity, self-expression... they are like a fresh air in the middle of a crowded place.

gaultier greatest hits

yesterday I was visiting a friends who was a bit ill, she had a cold... and now i´m ill too, again!
hate it! and moreover I have a lot of things to do... another bad weekend!

2006 is ending and 2007 is just round the corner... Jean Paul Gaultier´s 30th aniversary is in 2007. to commemorate it his last collection showed in Paris Fashion Week included his best pieces from past collections. he is l´enfant terrible de la mode and this retrospective of his work shows it... while you are looking back over you realise that he hasn´t repeated himself in so many years of innovation... he has been creating new trends since his beginning and he will continue... moreover you have the feeling that his clothes are still in fashion: he has been agresive and innovative, shocking people with his new designs but at the same time, as years past, all his influence is spread all over.
here are some photos from a vogue photoshoot and some from the runway (credit: style.com)
Dont forget about his colaboration with Pedro Almodóvar and his muses: Rosy de Palma, Madonna, Carmen Dell´Orefice and Velvet

fashion rugs

I´m a Jordi Labanda fan... since he has started doing illustrations for magazines I´ve been collecting them, I have two Jordi Labanda´s bags (one of the them from his first collection), two t-shirts, tones of notebooks of different sizes, a pen, a few pencils, a folder... and if I keep thinking I´ll discovered a few more things... more than a year ago I felt in love with his rugs but it was not until this autunm when I realised that I wanted one... one furniture shop close to my house has the fault. they have one rug with a very stylish lady on it on the window... good examples of cool rugs are:
